Care for a natural gourd like a living material.
A GORRAH vessel is made from real gourd and finished by hand. It should be used gently, dried properly, and kept away from extreme heat, harsh cleaning, and long soaking.
Use warm water and a soft cloth or soft sponge. Do not scrub with abrasive tools.
Let the inside air-dry before putting the stopper back on.
Natural materials and hand finish
Each piece begins as a real grown gourd, then is cut, shaped, dried, sealed, and finished by hand. Small asymmetry, natural marks, tone variation, and visible handwork are expected.
Before first use
- Rinse the inside with warm water.
- Shake gently, pour out the water, and repeat several times.
- Let the vessel air-dry fully in a cool, ventilated place.
- For the first few uses, avoid strong tea, coffee, alcohol, acidic drinks, or very hot liquid.
Daily cleaning
After use, rinse with warm water and dry with the opening exposed to air. A soft sponge or soft cloth is acceptable. Do not use hard brushes, bleach, strong detergent, alcohol cleaning, or abrasive powder.
What to avoid
- No dishwasher, microwave, oven, freezer, sterilizer, or open flame.
- No boiling water poured directly into the vessel.
- No long soaking or sealed storage while damp.
- No long-term storage of acidic, carbonated, oily, or strongly colored liquids.
If the inner finish becomes cracked, sticky, deeply scratched, or visibly damaged, stop using it for drinks and contact us.
How the piece changes over time
Natural gourds and hand finishes can deepen in tone as they are handled and exposed to light. This slow change is part of the material. Keep the vessel away from direct sun, very dry heat, and very humid storage to reduce cracking or warping risk.
